VCU Peppas bring the noise to the UCI Worlds

The VCU Peppas were among the musicians helping to make the 2015 Road World Championships even more exciting, performing Friday at the State Employee Zone.

Hundreds of state employees and cycling fans cheered on the band, and the cyclists racing by on the Governor’s Street climb.

Team USA cyclist Ben King visited with the band.

“It’s probably heavier than my bike,” he said while toting a Peppas tuba.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe and First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe were among the hundreds who visited the State Employee Zone during Friday’s races. The McAuliffes thanked the hard work of state employees in making the international event a success.
